We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

We were very impressed with how settled everyone came into Reception last week.

This week we are going to be learning and practising the story We’re Going On A Bear Hunt.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gyI6ykDwds

Please encourage your child to listen to the link below and recite the story with you.

In numeracy we will be counting and recognising numbers to 20. Maybe you could go on a number hunt with your child.

Please add any comments at the bottom if you want to share your child’s learning.

Welcome to Reception

We would like to welcome all the parents/ carers of our Reception children to Sunning Hill.

We look forward to working alongside both you to ensure your child’s time in Reception is enjoyable and we can watch your children learn and develop together.

On our blog page we will add any important pieces of information and reminders to help you and your child. At the top of the blog page there are some links to numeracy and literacy games and also videos demonstrating the actions for the phonic sounds.

We would like to invite you  to our weekly stay and play sessions every Tuesday from 8:45- 9:10. Each week we have a subject focus and you are able to play alongside your child to help with their learning. We also hope it will give you a few ideas of activities you can do at home. The first stay and play will be held on Tuesday 19th September.

We would also like to invite you to a meeting for parents after school on Monday 18th September at 3:45 in the Reception classroom. This will give you an opportunity to meet the staff and ask any questions.

Please find attached this terms newsletter.

Once again I would like to welcome you to Sunning Hill and if you have any questions or queries please don’t hesitate to ask.

Many thanks

The Reception team

Welcome letter

Peace at last

Next week we continue to learn about day and night? In literacy we will be reading Peace at Last.

In the story Mr Bear can’t sleep because of different sounds. What sounds can you hear in your house at night? Can you hear different sounds in the day?

Here is a link to next weeks story.

Owl Babies

Next week in literacy we will be reading Owl Babies.

An owl is a nocturnal animal- this means they sleep in the day and go out at night. Can you find any more nocturnal animals?

Here is a link to the story.
